The home is believed to have been used as a torture chamber over a decade ago by the home's occupant, 36-year-old waiter Maury Troy Travis.
Travis hanged himself while in custody in 2002 after he was charged with the slaying of two women.

But police said he was a suspect in as many as 20 murders in the area. Many of the women are believed to have died in the basement of the home.
McGhaw says her landlord — Sandra Travis, the suspected killer's mother — made no mention of the case or the bodies that her son kept in the basement before his arrest in 2002.
She says the landlord even gave her a dining room table; the same one shown in crime scene photos.
Travis' mother refused McGhaw's request to get out of the lease, insisting she had mentioned the property's sinister past before the lease was signed.
'She said ‘no you signed a lease you need to stay there until the lease is up,' McGhaw told KMOV/News 4. Omt review savarese citation.
It was only after the St Louis Housing Authority stepped in that McGhaw was free of the agreement.
'Initially, the landlord was not willing to let her break her lease but we talked with her and eventually the landlord agreed to rescind the lease,' the authority's executive director Cheryl Lovell told ABC News.
'In this state, there is no duty to disclose. Other states there are, but mostly that is for selling houses.'
McGhaw says she will be moving at the end of July, which can't come soon enough.
Travis became a key suspect after he wrote to a local newspaper boasting about his 17 victims and sharing a map of where one of the bodies was buried.

Police were able to trace the map to his computer.
Police also found makeshift cells in his basement and videos of him tormenting the women before tying them up to a wooden beam in the basement that still stands to this day.

In another scene, Travis is allegedly shown wrapping a belt around a woman's neck and snapping it before she died.

McGhaw said she can't stop thinking about a haunting incident with a two-year-old relative that was playing in the basement near the pole where Travis tied up his victims.
